Third-party data notices
Third-party Notices in force for the current free release. Paid checkout is not open yet; when it opens, this document is frozen under an immutable version identifier and hash that every order retains.
Scope
The platform’s Data License covers the platform’s own protectable selection, arrangement, normalisation, versioning, and licensed fields. It does not claim ownership over the third-party material identified below, and it does not impose proprietary restrictions on material whose own open licence grants broader rights. Each item below states the source, its licence, and what was done with it.
Natural Earth
Country and supported administrative-boundary map geometry is derived from Natural Earth. Natural Earth places its data in the public domain; it is identified here as the source of the basemap geometry, which was simplified and cut for display. Natural Earth does not endorse this product.
GeoNames
A majority of published city coordinates were matched from the GeoNames gazetteer, licensed under CC BY 4.0. City names and coordinates were selected, normalised, and combined with the inventory’s own place records. GeoNames does not endorse this product. The CC BY licence continues to govern that underlying gazetteer data notwithstanding anything in the platform’s Data License.
OpenStreetMap
A minority of published city coordinates were resolved through the public Nominatim geocoding service and are derived from OpenStreetMap data, © OpenStreetMap contributors, licensed under the Open Database License (ODbL) 1.0. The ODbL’s attribution and share-alike terms govern that derived geographic data; nothing in the platform’s Data License narrows them. This release publishes no city coordinates and no map derived from them; the site’s map shows country outlines from Natural Earth only.
Source links and trademarks
Facility records link to public web pages — operator sites, government and planning documents, utility materials, regulatory publications, and press — as evidence for individual facts. A link grants no rights in the linked website, document, or its expression, and implies no endorsement by its owner. Operator names, product names, and marks appearing in the data identify the facilities and belong to their respective owners.
Removal and rights requests
A rights holder who believes material is identified or linked in error, or whose terms the platform has misread, can write to legal@provenancedatahub.com with the URL or facility ID concerned. Requests are reviewed against the source-rights record for the cited page, and substantiated requests result in replacement or removal in the next release.
